THE GATHERING - Sand And Mercury [taken by (1995) "Mandylion" album] - a song for the death of a beloved person.
TRIVIA: The song consists of three main parts. The first one is a doom/metal instrumental part. At the second are clear the Pink Floyd influences of the group, and after the lyrics, the third one is the ending part. After that part, a voice hears to say : "nothing that happens to man is ever natural...". This voice is the voice of J.R.R. Tolkien talking. Not to forget that this album is the first one with Anneke Van Giersbergen on vocals.
