Choosing one favorite theme is way too difficult so I will make reference to two of my favorite theme composers Ennio Moricone and Maurice Jarre. Moricone's music is using exceptional melodies but also uncommon instruments ( the man with the Harmonica for example , a real masterpiece). On the other hand the symphonic music of Lawrence of Arabia by Maurice Jarre is a perfect match for the movie.A music great as the desert.

I don't like soundtracks that are compilations of irrelevant songs, and not songs written for serving the purpose of a film exclusively. After thinking enough i can say that my favourite soundtrack is the : "Requiem For A Dream". The music composed by Clint Mansell and performed by the Kronos Quartet. It is an album that contains great music, which follows and enhances every scene of the film. Cold and discomforting music that seems to have escaped from a nightmare. The soundtrack has been used in various forms in trailers for other films and series, including The Da Vinci Code, Sunshine and Lost. The soundtrack also confirmed its popularity with the remix album "Requiem for a Dream: Remixed", which contained new mixes of the music by Paul Oakenfold, Josh Wink, Jagz Kooner, and Delerium, amongst others.

...mmmm I real don't know too much for the music themes of the films...But I believe that a movie must have a good background music support, because it creates and up lifts the emotions of the viewers. A good theme can make you feel sorrow for the characters or feel happy for them but there is also the other side of the matter where movies that have nothing to say at all have awful music, yak melodies that destroy the atmosphere of the movie and makes you laugh...I don't know how you feel it but sometimes better without any music some movies could be better

And for the record I like very much the music of "Braveheart" and "Gladiator"... Emotion in Brutality
